The public safety complex will be home to the county's 911 system, emergency management operations and hazardous materials response team.
The county previously had a deal to buy a 25.5-acre tract, but that fell through last month when about six acres of wetlands were discovered on the parcel.
The school's operating committee agreed to ask its member school districts to vote on the idea. Public Safety Director Joseph Weindorf said he is optimistic the school districts will support it.
All 11 member school districts must approve the new proposal, as must a county judge.
The 20-acre parcel also has about a half-acre of wetlands, but that will not be a problem, Weindorf said.
